In India, they noticed one of the rarest modifications of the Russian-made T-90S tank. Attention to the video with the combat vehicle, which appeared on Twitter, drew the publication “RG: Russian Weapon”.
The published footage included a train carrying 17 armored vehicles. In particular, on one of the platforms, you can see a version of the T-90C, which at present practically does not fall into the camera lenses – with a cast turret.
As the newspaper notes, about 40 such tanks were made in total. Like later models, the T-90S tanks were equipped with 1000-horsepower V-92S2 multi-fuel diesel engines, built-in reactive armor and night thermal imaging sights. It was this modification that was first supplied to the Indian army. Later, the T-90S began to be produced with welded turrets.
T-90MS (also known as T-90SM, “T-90S modernized” and under the brand name “Tagil”) – the export look of the Russian T-90 tank. After modernization, I received a new turret with a 2A46M-5 cannon and a remotely controlled machine-gun mount. The vehicle is equipped with the new Kalina fire control system and the Relikt dynamic protection system. Today, India produces similar machines on its territory under license.
