The Progress MS-17 cargo vehicle successfully undocked from the International Space Station. It will be in autonomous flight for more than a day, according to the Roscosmos website.

Progress MS-17 departed from the Search module. The autonomous flight of the cargo ship will last 29 hours. He will make several maneuvers and move away from the ISS to a maximum distance of 185 kilometers.

After that “Progress” will have to dock to the “Science” module. Docking is scheduled for 07:31 Moscow time on October 22.

Re-docking of the spacecraft is necessary in order for the ISS to be able to receive the new Prichal module, which is scheduled to launch on November 24. In order for Prichal to join Nauka, Progress MS-17 will take with it an adapter from Nauka, which now does not allow the new module to join. Also, Progress MS-17 will check the tightness of the module's fuel lines at Nauka.

Earlier it was reported that next year Russia intends to launch two manned Soyuz spacecraft and three Progress trucks to the International Space Station.
