The Prime Minister of Peru, Hector Valer Pinto, resigned four days after his appointment. This is reported by Bloomberg.
The reason for the resignation was the criticism of the public, which followed the publication in local media of information that in 2016 the politician’s wife accused him of domestic violence against herself and her daughter. Valer Pinto himself denies the charges and claims that these reports are false. At the same time, he noted that “he will go to his chambers to heal his wounds, and will return when the public wishes it.”
In December 2021, British MP Imran Ahmad Khan was accused of harassment against a child. Prosecutors accused him of allegedly touching a child in January 2008 at a house in Staffordshire. At that time, Khan did not hold any posts in the government. The parliamentarian himself declared that he was innocent.
