The President of Lithuania spoke about the “green light” for Ukraine’s membership in NATO

In Lithuania they say that they will make every effort to ensure that Ukraine receives membership in the Alliance.< /strong>

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda hopes that Ukraine, during the NATO summit in Washington in 2024, can receive the green light for membership in the Alliance.

About The politician said this at the Krinitsa Forum on Security and Economics in Poland, writes LRT.

He explained that at the summit in Vilnius an algorithm was created for Ukraine’s desire to join NATO. He added that the text of the summit was the maximum that politicians could do then.

“Now we have to make every effort, and I really hope for Poland’s cooperation so that at the Washington summit we can help do more one step forward and, perhaps, give the green light to Ukraine’s membership in NATO,” said Lithuanian President Nausėda.

Recall that NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg regrets that Russia managed to avoid responsibility for the occupation in 2008 parts of Georgia and Crimea in 2014.
