President of Kazakhstan Kasim- Zhomart Tokayev reported on the first victims as a result of mass protests, which have been going on in the country for several days.

He stated this on the air of one of the Kazakh TV channels.

According to him , law enforcement officers were killed during the clashes . The President of Kazakhstan did not inform about the number of victims.

“I would like to thank the law enforcement officers and the military. They took the blow … and, unfortunately, they will. Sincere condolences,” he said Tokayev.

Earlier, Tokayev wrote down a new appeal to the people, in which he promised to “act toughly.” In addition, he announced that he was taking office as head of the Security Council. Previously, the head of the Security Council was the expresident Nursultan Nazarbayev, who led the country from 1991 to 2019.
