The Georgian President's forecast coincides with the predictions of the head of the European Council.
Georgia hopes to join the EU at the same time as Ukraine and Moldova.
Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili said this in an interview with the French TV channel LCI.
She agreed with the assumptions of the President of the European Council, Charles Michel, who admitted that Ukraine could become a member of the European Union in 2030 if all the necessary conditions are met.
“No, I think it will happen at the same time. It will happen in 2030, 2031 or 2029, I don’t know, but this horizon will be the next one, the “big bang”, as they say, the following participants will enter approximately together. We are a trio: Moldova , Ukraine and Georgia, and this trio was created together with us. I think Charles Michel's idea is interesting. 2030 is the horizon for considering expanding the union,” she said.
Let us remind you that on November 8, the European Commission decided to recommend starting the process of negotiations on Ukraine’s accession to the EU.
