In January 2025, one baby will be born in the United States every 9 seconds, and one person will die every 9.4 seconds. International migration will also contribute to population growth, adding one person every 23.2 seconds. As a result of the combination of births, deaths, and migration, the U.S. population will increase by one person every 21.2 seconds.
Since the early 2020s, the U.S. population has increased by nearly 9.7 million people, representing a 2.9% growth rate. In the 2010s, this figure was lower – only 7.4%, which was the slowest rate since the 1930s.
