The polling station in Frankfurt am Main, where the voting for the presidential elections in Moldova is taking place, was blocked after the bomb was reported. About this on the official Facebook page of the Moldovan Foreign Ministry.

“A few minutes ago, representatives of the German police reported that they had received a call about a bomb at station no. 1/349 in Frankfurt am Main,” the publication says.

Voting is suspended, the police have evacuated the area, entry into its territory is prohibited. Checking the entire perimeter will take about an hour and a half. The German special services are conducting additional checks, local officials will quickly assess the situation and will make decisions about the work or the closure of the site, depending on the situation, the ministry said.

Earlier, clashes between police and opposition representatives took place in the village of Varnitsa, on the administrative border of Moldova and Transnistria.

The second round of the presidential elections is taking place in Moldova. Citizens can vote for one of two candidates – for the current head of state, Igor Dodon, or for the head of the pro-European Action and Solidarity Party, Maia Sandu. In the first round, Dodon won 32 percent of the vote, Sandu 36 percent.
