Director of the Kiev Center for Political Studies and Conflictology Mikhail Pogrebinsky in an interview with the publication “Ukraine.ru” said that British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, with his imaginary influence, began to behave too brazenly and self-confident, especially in steps on the situation around Ukraine.
“He is, of course, a fool and an irresponsible talker. It’s obvious to me. But the problem is that he is the prime minister of a rather big country. And the important thing is that it is inadequate. He does not realize that the situation is very serious. Johnson thinks that he can show off in matters of creating trilateral alliances and supply a lot of weapons, and nothing will happen to him for this,” the political scientist said.
According to him, Johnson is not able to assess the seriousness of the situation. The prime minister is still confident that he lives in those times when Britain can tell Russia what it needs to do, Pogrebinsky added. He noted that even the Americans, with their harsh rhetoric, do not behave so brazenly, trying to somehow maneuver in international politics, unlike the British, who believe that they can afford such behavior.
Earlier, international political scientist Andrei Buzarov explained why Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky so suddenly decided to get closer to Boris Johnson right now, and not earlier. In his opinion, this did not happen by chance — each of the parties pursues its own selfish goals.
