The plane also dumped 20 tons of fuel due to its weight.
A Boeing 747 cargo plane flying from New York to Belgium was forced to urgently return to the airport after a horse left its enclosure and began walking around the cabin.
The BBC writes about this.
The plane was en route to Belgium from New York but made a U-turn about 90 minutes after takeoff when the animal broke free.
Air traffic control recorded the pilot saying: “We have a live animal on board the plane, a horse. He managed to escape.”
The pilot of Air Atlanta Icelandic Flight 4592 told air traffic control that the plane was OK, but there was a concern about a horse on the loose. He asked a veterinarian to meet the plane upon landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport.
When the plane was returning, the pilot said that he needed to drain 20 tons of fuel due to the weight of the plane.
It remains unclear how the horse got out.
Let us remind you that in the USA a plane made an emergency landing due to an adult diaper.
