The pimp sues authorities over refusal to support the sex industry

by alex

In Japan, a woman running a legal “pimp” business has filed a lawsuit against authorities for refusing to financially support the sex industry as affected by the coronavirus pandemic. The Japan Times writes about it.

According to the publication, the industry has been excluded from the program to support small companies affected by the pandemic. The business owner considered this measure discriminatory and contrary to the Constitution. She filed a lawsuit with the Tokyo District Court and demanded payment of benefits to prostitutes, as well as compensation for discrimination.

As part of the financial assistance, the Japanese authorities are allocating up to two million yen to the affected small business, as well as rental benefits. However, the sex business woman had to suspend her work in April and May, causing her income to collapse by 70-80 percent compared to last year.

In April, Vera Begun, a resident of Omsk with many children, became involved in 18 criminal cases: she faces up to 20 years in prison. During the investigation, it turned out that in 2016 Vera Begun kidnapped her girlfriend and used her as a sex slave in a brothel. The victim managed to escape, but did not contact the police. Currently, the accused's case has been sent to court.
