In the event of an attack by Ukraine on Russia and its citizens anywhere, including in the Donbass, Moscow is ready to respond in full, Russian Permanent Representative to the EU Vladimir Chizhov said in an interview with The Guardian.

“We will not invade Ukraine unless we are provoked,” the Russian envoy said.

Chizhov also talked about the possible reaction and readiness of Russia to respond to the provocations of Kiev, as a result of which its citizens will be killed. “If the Ukrainians launch an attack against Russia, don’t be surprised if we respond,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova accused Ukraine of not having the courage to publicly declare its unwillingness to comply with the Minsk agreements. According to her, instead, Kiev is engaged in “farce and forgery.” She added that there are no Russian conditions for the implementation of the agreements, except for the text of the document itself.
