The Pentagon will look for ways to improve combat capabilities during campaigns in the city. This is stated in the text of the report, which RT got acquainted with.
In particular, the US Department of Defense wants to explore the possibilities of preparing for combat in the conditions of “dense urban, engulfed in fighting or congested terrain”, as well as in “terrain with limited and denied access and maneuver.”
“To ensure the success of the combined forces in such conditions, they need superiority in this environment, but retaining it on a permanent basis is difficult,” the document says.
For this reason, the Pentagon wants to improve the tactics of its units, especially in the city. During the experiment, they will have to carry out operations, while the enemy “will prevent the implementation of certain opportunities.”
In September, the Pentagon acknowledged China's superiority in three military areas: land-based cruise and ballistic missiles, integrated air defense systems, as well as the pace of building warships and the size of the fleet.
