Pentagon spokesman John Kirby assured that US troops deployed to Eastern Europe would not be involved in a potential conflict in Ukraine. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Kirby, the US has “no intention, no plans, no sanction” to use these troops in Ukraine, and they will not be accidentally drawn into a potential conflict.
In early February, the American administration announced that the military presence of the United States and NATO countries in Eastern Europe was increasing to contain Russia. Washington believes that Moscow may attempt to invade Ukraine in the coming months and sees this as a security threat.
