Pentagon spokesman John Kirby admitted the participation of the US military in the evacuation of US citizens from Ukraine. It is reported by TASS.
“I cannot rule out that these soldiers may be involved to some extent in supporting the evacuation from the other side of this border. Of course, they will be ready for this,” he stressed.
According to Kirby, military personnel from the 82nd Airborne Division of the United States, who were sent to Poland, may be involved in the evacuation.
Earlier, the Wall Street Journal reported that the administration of US President Joe Biden approved the Pentagon's plan, which involves the possible evacuation of American citizens from Ukraine. According to the plan, the military personnel of the 82nd Airborne Division, who are currently stationed in Poland, will begin to create checkpoints, tent camps and other temporary facilities on the border between Poland and Ukraine.
