The Palace of Youth Creativity in St. Petersburg has opened new circles
The Palace of Creativity for Children and Adolescents in St. Petersburg will start classes in full-time format. Now the admission campaign is underway. Vladimir Shkolnikov, the correspondent of MIR 24, learned how they are preparing for the new academic year.
Today, the Anichkov Palace, the oldest surviving building on Nevsky Prospekt, belongs to children. This year, the Youth Creativity Palace will host four and a half thousand new students. The number of applications has already doubled. In some areas, for example, design, competition – four people per place.
“It is rather difficult to get to us, because there is a competitive selection. Number of places – 30 for the first year of study. We are a design school in which children study for nine years continuously. We are taking the second class, ”explained Olga Leviash, head of the children's design center of the St. Petersburg City Palace of Youth Creativity.

“The parents' response was very important for us. Many said that they did not even suspect that a child might have such interests, ”said Maria Katunova, General Director of the St. Petersburg City Palace of Youth Creativity.
There are 1300 clubs and sections in the palace. This year, new directions will be added to them: e-sports, marine robotics and animation.
