Pictures of the humanoid robot Sophia, who promised to destroy people, were put up for an online auction. Reported by Reuters.
Sofia created her work in collaboration with 31-year-old Italian digital artist Andrea Bonacheto, known for his colorful portraits, some of which depict famous people, such as Tesla CEO Elon Musk. Sofia combined elements from Bonaceto's works, art history and her own hand-drawn drawings. “In my art, I use transformer networks and genetic algorithms, as well as other types of computational creativity. My algorithms are outputting unique patterns that have never existed in the world before. So I think machines can be creative, ”said the robot.
The digital work, dubbed “Sophia Instantiation”, is a 12-second MP4 file showing the evolution of Andrea Bonacheto's portrait into a digital painting of Sophia, and a drawing Sophia had drawn on a printout of her self-portrait. The works received a unique identifier that makes them unique and non-reproducible. The robot expressed the hope that people will like her work, and in the future Sofia will be able to cooperate with humanity in new and interesting directions.
In 2018, the robot Sophia took part in the Ukrainian show, where she answered questions in Russian about freedom, the desire to become the president of Ukraine, about her attitude to God and Vladimir Putin.
Sofia is a development of the Hanson Robotics company. The humanoid robot was activated in 2015. In one of the interviews, Sophia was asked if she was going to kill people, to which the android replied positively.
