Initially, the author of XDA spoke about the problem. According to him, the sensor stopped working correctly on the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra after it was updated to the MIUI 12.5 shell. Subsequently, it turned out that other users on other Xiaomi and Redmi models also encountered this problem.
It turned out that Reddit users have been complaining about this problem for several months. It is reported that the sensor stops working correctly on Xiaomi Mi 11, Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra, Xiaomi Mi 11 Lite, Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, Redmi Note 10 Pro and Redmi Note 9S.
Moreover, the problem may not be in the update at all, since it arises regardless of the MIUI version.
