At an early stage of gastric cancer, a person's taste preferences may change and nausea may appear after eating, said an assistant at the Department of Hospital Surgery of the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, oncologist-surgeon Rustem Topuzov.
“With stomach cancer, taste preferences may change, nausea and vomiting may appear after a meal, its passage is disturbed, a feeling of a coma appears in the lower esophagus, depending on localization,” the specialist said in an interview with the Doctor Peter portal.
Stomach bleeding speaks of a serious condition, Topuzov noted. In this case, he advises to urgently go to the hospital. For the initial diagnosis of cancer, the doctor recommended undergoing cancer screening after 45 years.
