Maxim Trankov
Two-time Olympic champion Maxim Trankov called the problem in the return of Russian figure skater Evgenia Medvedeva to coach Eteri Tutberidze. His words are quoted by “Championship.com”.
Trankov considered that Medvedev would not be able to resist another ward coach Anna Shcherbakova. “As shown in the box office, Medvedeva has little chance in the fight against Shcherbakova. [Control] rentals, of course, do not really decide anything. But the free program was not ready, ”he said.
Earlier, on September 16, it became known about Medvedeva's decision to return to the Tutberidze group. The skater commented on the transition, saying that their relationship with the coach is fine.
Medvedeva left Tutberidze for Canadian specialist Brian Orser in the summer of 2018 after losing to Zagitova in the individual tournament of the Olympics in Pyeongchang. In addition to the silver medal of the 2018 Games, under the leadership of Tutberidze, Medvedeva twice won the World, European and Grand Prix finals.
