At the monitoring posts of the exclusion zone of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the equivalent dose rate of gamma radiation has increased.
This was reported in the State Specialized Enterprise Ecocenter.
At the same time, the speaker-adviser of the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Vadim Denisenko, during a video message on the afternoon of February 25, noted that the level of radiation is not critical for Kiev .
The radiation background increased after the dust rose from the movement of Russian heavy equipment across the territory contaminated with radionuclides.
– This dust will also settle on the wheels and tracks of the equipment and will be partially carried out of the exclusion zone. The enemies themselves will inhale radioactive dust, taking it out in the lungs and on the mucous membranes, from where it is almost impossible to wash it off, – noted the Ecocenter special enterprise.
The state of nuclear installations and other facilities of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, the state agency notes, remains unchanged.
The Russian occupation troops took control of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on the evening of February 24.
After the topsoil was disturbed by the movement of a large amount of heavy military equipment, radiation levels began to fluctuate in the exclusion zone.
