Russia receives not only ballistic missiles from the DPRK. The aggressor country is in dire need of conventional weapons, in particular artillery shells.

North Korea was first accused of selling shells to Russia back in September 2022. When the US pointed out this fact, the DPRK resorted to denials. However, after this, new evidence of Russian-Korean cooperation appeared.

What weapons did the DPRK secretly supply to Russia

Last summer, the White House announced that North Korea sent more than 1,000 containers of weapons to Russia for use in the war against Ukraine. Since then, until March, North Korea has sent about 7,000 containers of weapons to Russia.

South Korean Defense Minister Shin Won-sik said that the containers were filled with 152-millimeter artillery shells, which can carry up to three million units. And if these containers were filled with 122-millimeter shells, they could hold more than half a million units.

According to him, they could also contain a mixture of both types of weapons. In general, according to South Korea, the DPRK could have sent Russia 10,000 containers of weapons.

It has also already been established that Russia is launching ballistic missiles produced in North Korea at Ukraine. The first time that debris from a Hwasong-11A short-range ballistic missile was discovered was this winter.

In addition, North Korea may be supplying Russia with anti-tank missiles and portable surface-to-air missiles, as well as rifles, rocket launchers, mortars, and shells.
