Nutritionist and fitness trainer Kathleen Trotter named simple and effective ways to lose those extra pounds gained during the New Year holidays. Her words are quoted by Express.
There is no one-size-fits-all diet, Trotter says, as the effectiveness of a given nutrition program is highly dependent on gender, age, metabolic rate, and exercise restrictions. Therefore, the trainer advises to develop an individual nutritional model.
According to the nutritionist, the most important thing is consistency and adherence to a certain lifestyle. “Unrealistic and extreme diets and exercise regimes can be detrimental to your hormones, weight and metabolism,” Trotter said. For systematic weight loss, she recommends choosing foods high in nutrients and reducing the number of processed foods and ready meals, and not resorting to fasting days and other forms of fasting.
The trainer advises to listen to the body: eat only after the feeling of hunger arises, stop when the feeling of fullness appears, and concentrate on the process while eating. Trotter suggests drinking more water and not forgetting that drinks also affect your figure. For example, do not get carried away with soda and alcohol. “Don't forget about portions and planning. One cookie is not the same as five cookies. Portions matter. Always have a plan – cook healthy food, know what you will eat at parties, ”she said.
For those who want to lose weight, a nutritionist recommends remembering that a healthy lifestyle is a path, not a short distance, designed to quickly get rid of excess weight.
US nutritionists have previously named breakfast foods that can help support heart health. First of all, experts recommend paying attention to oatmeal, omelet with vegetables, whole grain bread with eggs and berries.
