The number of coronavirus infections in the world has exceeded 60 million. Such data are given by the project of Johns Hopkins University.
It is noted that in just the time of the pandemic, more than 1.41 million people died, and more than 38 million were recovered from COVID-19. The leaders in the number of cases are the United States (12.6 million), India (9.2 million) and Brazil (6.1 million). Next on the list are France and Russia.
Earlier, the director of the WHO health emergencies program, Michael Ryan, suggested that the coronavirus began to spread around the world after infecting several zero patients. He added that there is no doubt about the natural origin of the virus. However, the version of the first transmission of SARS-CoV-2 from a bat has not yet been proven.
