The number of coronavirus cases in the world has exceeded 56 million. This is evidenced by data from Johns Hopkins University, which is updated on the website in real time.
As of 02:00 Moscow time, 56,075,527 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the world. More than 35.9 million of them were cured, more than 1.3 million died.
The USA remains the leader in the total number of infections – almost 11.5 million patients. In second place is India (8.9 million), in third is Brazil (5.9 million). They are followed by France (2.1 million) and Russia (1.9 million).
Earlier, the World Health Organization (WHO) reported a record increase in the number of coronavirus infections in a week. The number of people infected worldwide has increased by 3,977,223 people over the past seven days.
