Last week, the US military tested the ability of the latest MQ-25 T1 drone to refuel an aircraft in the air. The F / A-18 Hornet fighter served as the “experimental rat”.
As a result, the UAV managed to successfully refuel – for the first time in 25 T1 flights. At the same time, experts continue to test the device, according to the Military Review. Then he was sent to Norfolk, Virginia, for tests on the deck of a US Navy aircraft carrier in late 2021.
According to USNI News, the T-1 was built back in 2014. For the project, Boeing received a $ 805 million contract, bypassing General Atomics and Lockheed Martin. For this money, the aircraft manufacturer must build the first four Stingray vehicles.
