The State Service for Special Communications and Information Protection reported that a working group of specialists from the main subjects of the national system on cybersecurity is making every effort to counteract and localize cyber attacks on the websites of state banks and institutions on February 15.
– There is a powerful DDOS attack on a number of Ukrainian information resources. In particular, there were interruptions in the operation of the web services of Privatbank and Oschadbank. The websites of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine were also attacked.
As specified, at 19.30 the work of banking web resources was resumed.
– A working group of specialists from the main subjects of the national cybersecurity system is taking all necessary measures to counteract and localize a cyber attack, – the State Service for Special Communications reported.
Recall that since the second half of the day in Ukraine there have been failures in the work of the official website of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the services of two state-owned banks – Privatbank and Oschadbank.
In particular, when trying to go to the sites of the Ministry of Defense and the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a message appears that “the page is not available” and “it is not possible to access the site.”
Also, clients of the state-owned Oschadbank and Privatbank announced interruptions in the operation of mobile applications and payments.
Note that a DDoS attack is a targeted traffic flow to a particular online resource in order to disable it.
