According to statistics from the Ministry of Internal Affairs, for 11 months of 2021, more than 1.7 thousand thefts were registered in Russia – 12 percent less than in 2020. At the same time, in 2021, the crime detection rate was 96 percent.
According to experts of the online car check service “Avtoteka”, the highest rates of theft are in Moscow and the Moscow region, the Chechen Republic, Kursk, Irkutsk, Rostov, Voronezh, Nizhny Novgorod and Leningrad regions, as well as in the Stavropol Territory, Crimea and St. Petersburg … The lowest are in North Ossetia, Altai Territory, Bashkiria, Mordovia, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, Vologda, Ryazan, Tver, Tula, Lipetsk, Astrakhan, Kostroma and Kaliningrad regions.
In December 2021, the Autoteka online service calculated the least stolen cars in Russia. So, the least interest among criminals was caused by Lada Kalina, Kia Picanto, Nissan Tiida and Micra, as well as Renault Symbol, Hyundai Matrix, Chevrolet Spark, Volkswagen Golf and Tiguan.
