The most reliable ways to unlock smartphones are revealed. This was reported by Rossiyskaya Gazeta with reference to Daniil Chernov, director of the security solutions center for the software company Rostelecom-Solar.
Chernov said that when unlocking a smartphone, two types are used: “Something that the user knows and something that the user is.” The first includes a variety of digital passwords and unique drawings with which a smartphone owner can access his device. In this case, Chernov called a long and complex password consisting of numbers and symbols the most secure. He also noticed that the combination should not be repeated with passwords to enter other systems.
The expert attributed fingerprint, face or voice scanning to the second type of authentication data. According to the specialist, Touch ID and Face ID systems on the iPhone are highly accurate and meet security requirements. The expert noted that Android smartphone users are better off choosing a fingerprint sensor to log into the system.
Chernov advised owners of inexpensive phones to use complex passwords, since it is easier to bypass finger and face unlock systems in cheap smartphones than in expensive ones. “Smartphones of a low budget category can hardly have a high-quality recognition system, which is difficult to deceive with the help of a photograph or a print,” the specialist noted.
Earlier, Russian experts said about the dangers of using a fingerprint sensor in a smartphone. According to Timur Sadykov, the head of the laboratory of artificial intelligence, neurotechnology and business analytics of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, the number of digital combinations for protecting a smartphone is not limited, “while a person has only ten fingers.”
