Samsung Galaxy A51 turned out to be the most popular smartphone in 2020 in Russia. This was reported in the press release of the service “Yandex.Market”, received by the editorial board of “Lenta.ru”.
The company noticed that the most popular phone on the service website was the Samsung Galaxy A51 with 64 gigabytes of storage. According to the site, the average cost of the device for six months was 19,499 rubles. The second and third places were taken by the iPhone 11 with 64 and 128 gigabytes of storage, respectively. The top 5 also includes Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note 8T. The list is closed by the budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy A10.
The authors of the study named Xiaomi the most popular manufacturer in Russia, which had a share of 27 percent. This is followed by Samsung and Apple, which received 22 and 20 percent respectively. It is reported that in 2020 the Russians were ready to spend about 23 thousand rubles on the purchase of a phone. Most often, consumers were looking for devices with support for contactless payments – 77 percent of clicks fell on offers of such models. In 94 percent of cases, buyers chose devices with support for two SIM cards.
Nearly 40 percent of the smartphones selected had 128 gigabytes of storage. In 2019, Russians most often chose models with 64 gigabytes of memory. In 25 percent of cases, consumers were looking for devices with four gigabytes of RAM.
The authors of the report clarified that the study used data on user transitions to online stores from January 1 to December 24, 2020.
Samsung Galaxy A51 also turned out to be the most demanded smartphone according to the research of the M.Video-Eldorado group. The second position is occupied by the Samsung Galaxy A10, the top 5 also includes the Samsung Galaxy A01, iPhone 11 with 128 gigabytes of memory and the Samsung Galaxy A51 with 128 gigabytes of storage.
