The Moscow City Court on Thursday, May 13, rejected the complaint of representatives of the microblogging network Twitter to the bailiff to recover 4 million rubles. The decision of the Meshchansky District Court of Moscow of November 16, 2020 was left unchanged, the Moscow City Court reported.
The fine is due to the social network's refusal to store user data from the Russian Federation on the territory of the country, as required by Russian law. Earlier, Facebook was fined on similar grounds.
In relation to Telegram, Facebook, Twitter, TikTok and Google, administrative protocols have been drawn up on several occasions for refusing to remove content, allegedly calling on minors to participate in unauthorized actions. In March, Roskomnadzor began to slow down the speed of Twitter, as the company did not comply with the requirements to remove content recognized as illegal in Russia.
