Finland will not open to tourists from Russia anytime soon. This was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Finland Eriikku Kostinen.
“Finland will definitely not open up to tourism in the near future,” she said. Moreover, the government plans to further restrict entry into the country, a decision on this can be made on Friday, January 22, Kostinen said.
The existing restrictions on entry into Finland are valid until February 9, they were extended on January 12.
Russians can get to a neighboring country only if there is a close relative with Finnish citizenship or for urgent family reasons (birth and death of close relatives, weddings). From October 1, property owners who need urgent repairs and parents of minors living in Finland are also allowed to come.
On January 16, Russia announced the restoration of air links with Vietnam, India, Finland and Qatar. Aeroflot announced that it will resume flights to Finland from 28 January. Flights to Helsinki will operate on Thursdays and Saturdays.
