Olga Tkacheva, the chief freelance geriatrician of the Ministry of Health, has debunked the popular myth of aging. Reported by RIA Novosti.
According to Tkacheva, the myth is that memory deteriorates with age. “[If this happens], we need to do something about it, pay attention to it,” she said.
The specialist pointed out that normal aging is not accompanied by memory impairments.
Earlier, neuropsychologist Irina Khvingiya said that a person's memory can deteriorate due to various factors: from overwork to injury. Before restoring memory, it is necessary to establish the reasons for its weakening and find out whether there is a lack of sleep, whether a rest regime is observed, whether there is physical activity. Memory problems can also arise with the habit of having a hearty dinner, as the brain continues to work at night instead of resting.
