Chief Oncologist of the Ministry of Health, Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Andrei Kaprin gave advice to cancer patients during the coronavirus pandemic.
– The patient himself needs to strictly observe all preventive measures – if possible, avoid crowded places, in the premises it is necessary to wear a mask or respirator, keep a distance of one and a half to two meters from others, wash hands, use antiseptics, – said the specialist in a conversation with KP.Ru.
Kaprin also called on relatives and friends of cancer patients to quickly get vaccinated against coronavirus in order to create a “sanitary shield” around a loved one.
Earlier Andrei Kaprin said that cancer patients can be vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine. Research is ongoing to determine the feasibility of using vaccines at different stages of cancer treatment. However, the majority of cancer patients can already be vaccinated, the oncologist said.
