The head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Mikhail Murashko, announced the start of the production of anti-coronavirus immunoglobulin based on the blood plasma of COVID-19 patients.
“This is an anticoid immunoglobulin – this is already a highly concentrated drug that can neutralize the virus, and it is, of course, the highest priority in comparison with anticoid plasma”, – said Murashko in an interview with RIA Novosti at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF).
As the minister specified, production must be increased, and this will definitely require plasma.
On April 1, the Russian Ministry of Health approved the use of COVID-globulin, the world's first registered drug of a specific anticoid immunoglobulin, for patients aged 18 to 60 years.
