The Ministry of Emergency Situations named the cause of the fire in peat bogs in Yekaterinburg. There is a very high probability that this is arson. As noted in the ministry, extinguishing the centers of decay continues, TASS reports. A fire-technical examination is underway. The final materials will be transferred to the investigating authorities. It is noted that five hotbeds of a peat fire have been eliminated in the region per day, 27 hotbeds continue to operate, and five additional main lines for water supply have been laid.
Meanwhile, in the Yekaterinburg microdistrict, where peat bogs are smoldering, an excess of carbon monoxide has been revealed. The rest of the indicators are in line with the standards. Experts are conducting research, the situation is monitored by the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor.
Sanitary doctors continue to advise residents to avoid being outdoors for a long time, do not open windows, give up contact lenses, drink more, rinse out their eyes, nose and throat, use air conditioners, respirators, do wet cleaning, and curtain windows with a damp cloth.
