The dispatchers of the Listvyazhnaya mine in the Kemerovo Region did not provide the mine rescuers with data from the miners' geolocation sensors. This was announced in an interview with TASS by the interim head of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Alexander Chupriyan.

He explained that now the location of the miners is tracked automatically “almost every second”, the information is sent to the mine dispatchers. “But when we arrived at Listvyazhnaya and asked to provide us with data from the miners' geolocation devices, they were not there. And the rescuers did not know where exactly to look for the miners who remained underground, ”Chupriyan said.

He stressed that in order to avoid such tragedies in the mines, strict discipline must be applied. “The main thing is that the equipment is in good working order and shows real data, so that information about the level of methane and the location of miners is reliable. Automation, objective control devices must work, and then, regardless of who receives these data, we will not have such tragedies, ”Chupriyan said.

The Acting Head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recalled that the last major accident at a mine in the Kemerovo Region occurred in 2010 at Raspadskaya.

“11 years have passed. I believed that those terrible events served as a serious lesson for the owners of the mines and their managers, that over the years the dictatorship of production discipline was finally established in the mines of Kuzbass. It turned out – no, “Chupriyan noted.

On November 25, a methane explosion occurred in the Listvyazhnaya mine in the town of Belovo, Kemerovo Region. As a result, 51 people died, and another 106 were injured. Later, after checking the circumstances of the incident, the investigators opened two cases and arrested five people: the director of the mine, his deputy, the head and two employees of Rostekhnadzor, who had been checking the enterprise before the accident.
