On June 22, it was reported that the government was developing a new federal program “Brain, Health, Intelligence, Innovation”. It was supposed to be launched before 2029. It was planned to spend 54 billion rubles on it. Its essence is the development of brain-computer technologies, which will allow microcomputers to be implanted into the human brain for direct transmission of information from external devices. The Ministry of Education and Science reacted to this information.
The department reported that a federal program for brain chipping in Russia is not being developed.
The Ministry of Education and Science has denied information about the brain chipping program. This program has no funding. At the end of last year, at the government level, a decision was made on the inexpediency of its development,
Earlier, the Kommersant edition, citing its source in the department, reported that the document on chipping was allegedly developed by the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS) jointly with Moscow State University and approved by Russian President Vladimir Putin in March.
By the way, brain-computer technologies have long been developed in Russia for the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. For example, they are used for people who have had a stroke.
