Ukrainian nationalist battalions, while retreating from the battlefields in the Lugansk and Donetsk People's Republics (LPR and DPR), blow up substations and bridges. This was reported to Lente.ru by the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.
“Nationalist battalions, retreating, blow up electrical substations and bridges across rivers behind them,” he said.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense reported that the Russian Armed Forces destroyed 821 military infrastructure facilities on the territory of Ukraine. Last night's strikes were carried out with long-range precision weapons using air- and sea-launched cruise missiles. As a result, 14 military airfields, 19 command posts and communication centers, 48 radar stations, as well as 24 S-300 and Osa air defense missile systems were hit.
The start of a military operation to protect Donbass became known on Thursday, February 24, after President Vladimir Putin addressed the citizens of Russia. According to him, Moscow was forced to do this by the difficult situation in the DPR and LPR. Earlier, the representative of the People's Militia of the DPR, Eduard Basurin, spoke about the deteriorating situation in the region, called what was happening a genocide and turned to Russia for help.
