The Ministry of Defense of Russia has taken over the supply of the latest artillery fire control vehicles “Zavet-D” for the Airborne Forces (Airborne Forces). An informed source told RIA Novosti about this.

“The machine has successfully passed military tests and the Ministry of Defense has accepted the complex for supply,” – said the agency's interlocutor.

According to him, now the issue of concluding a contract for the first batch is being worked out, and in 2022 it is planned to start mass production and “in a short time to cover the needs of the Airborne Forces in this type of equipment.”

The Zavet-D complex was developed by the Penza enterprise Rubin, which is part of Rostec. He received the latest equipment that allows him to reliably detect and identify various targets, including camouflaged ones.

“Thanks to this, the effectiveness of the use of artillery units of the Airborne Forces, which are armed with self-propelled guns 2S9” Nona-S “, 2S9-1” Sviristelka “, 2S9-1M” Nona-SM “, should increase, and in the future – the newest 2C42” Lotos “, – said a source.

Zavet-D will replace the Reostat mobile reconnaissance and artillery fire control station, providing a new level of interaction between artillery and drones of various classes.

Earlier it was reported that the Aerospace Forces (VKS) of Russia received a “flying radar” – a modernized aviation complex for long-range radar surveillance and guidance A-50U.
