The message of the girl from the

Scientists have discovered a strange message in a bottle, which was allegedly thrown by a girl on board the Titanic shortly before the crash. Reported by The Sun.

The letter is dated April 13, 1912. It was written by 12-year-old third-class passenger Matilda Lefebvre.

“I am throwing this bottle into the water in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We are due to arrive in New York in a few days. If anyone finds it, contact the Lefebvre family in Leuven.”

The Titanic sank the next day. Matilda, her three siblings and her mother are missing.

Now scientists are finding out if the letter was actually written 105 years ago, or if it was someone's attempt to mislead people.

“The letter could have been written by Matilda herself on board the Titanic, or it could have been written by someone else on her behalf. It could also be a trick made after the tragedy, or a fresh fake.”

According to him, the chemical composition of the bottle, which contained the message, corresponds to the technologies of the early 20th century. The age of the cork and the sheet of paper also matches. However, experts are skeptical about the find and continue to study its authenticity, since such old items are easy to find in our time.

Previously, Rambler reported that the oldest known human burial site was discovered in Africa.
