The Ukrainian men's chess team won the European Championship, which was held in Slovenian Chatjez. Our team was ahead of the French national team in additional indicators.
The Ukrainians scored 14 points without defeat, the same number of points for the French team. Poland and Spain have 13 points each.
At the European Team Championship, the Ukrainian national team was represented by Anton Korobov, Andrey Volokitin, Kirill Shevchenko, Yuriy Kozubov and Vladimir Onischuk . The team captain is Alexander Sulipa, the second coach is Martin Kravtsev.
The seventh round of the championship was decisive, where the Ukrainian team met with the rating favorite, the Russian team. The Ukrainians won with a score of 2.5: 1.5.
The next day, the Ukrainian team drew with the Azerbaijani team – 2: 2. In the ninth round, the Ukrainians beat the Armenian chess players – 3: 1.
The Ukrainian chess players fell a little to the third line . Our girls scored 12 points, as did the Azerbaijani team, which took third place. The first two lines are occupied by the teams of Russia and Georgia.
The Ukrainian team included Anna Muzychuk, Anna Ushenina, Yulia Osmak, Natalya Buksa, Inna Gaponenko, Natalya Zhukova, captain – Mikhail Brodsky.
