The Estonian Defense Ministry emphasized that the decision to introduce troops should be made jointly by NATO member countries.

The Estonian government considered the possibility of sending its troops “on non-combat missions” to Ukraine.

About this said Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkuv, writes Polskie Radio.

He specified that officials discussed the possibility of sending their soldiers not to the front, but to western Ukraine. No final decision has been made, since, as he explained, Estonia must ensure the safety of NATO instructors.

“If we had a large contingent, say, a brigade-sized unit with equipment, it would be a very big target for Russian troops,” the minister noted.

Pevkuv emphasized that the decision to introduce troops must be made jointly by NATO member countries.

“We must take into account all the details: force protection measures, as well as logistics. That is why we are currently continuing training in Poland and Great Britain. We will see how this topic develops,” he concluded.

Recall that in In May of this year, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, announced that France, a NATO member, would send military instructors to Ukraine.
