The mayor of the Argentine city of Roque Perez, 72-year-old Juan Carlos Gasparini, was vaccinated against the coronavirus with a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in his hands. The photo was posted on his Twitter page.

“I brought the photo because I'm proud of it. Everyone said that they were going to poison us, and they were saving our lives, ”he said.

Vaccination with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine began in Argentina at the end of December, and the drug was registered under an accelerated procedure.

On March 4, Sputnik V was registered in Iraq. Already 45 countries have approved the Russian drug.

On February 18, the head of the RDIF, Kirill Dmitriev, said that the countries that have signed a supply contract with Moscow must release 1.4 billion doses of the vaccine, which can be used to inoculate 700 million people. At the same time, some manufacturers – China, India, Iran and South Korea – will produce the drug for export to third countries.

Sputnik V is the first registered Russian vaccine against coronavirus, it was created on the basis of adenovirus, in which the coronavirus gene is embedded. When it enters the cells, it forms proteins in them – they cause immunity and promote the development of antibodies.
