The mayor of the Argentine city of Roque Perez, 72-year-old Juan Carlos Gasparini, explained the coronavirus vaccination with a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in his hands. He told RIA Novosti why he kept a photo of the Russian leader.

Gasparini wanted to express his gratitude for saving the lives of the Argentines.

“So I wanted to thank (Putin) for what he did for Argentina. How many lives did this vaccine save? .. It was a way to pay tribute against the backdrop of criticism of the opposition, ”he said. According to the mayor, any educated person knows “what the Russians are capable of,” possessing “great scientific knowledge.”

Vaccination with the Russian Sputnik V vaccine began in Argentina at the end of December, and the drug was registered under an accelerated procedure.

Earlier it was reported that 72-year-old Juan Carlos Gasparini was vaccinated against coronavirus with a portrait of Russian President Vladimir Putin in his hands.

On March 4, Sputnik V was registered in Iraq. Already 45 countries have approved the Russian drug.

Sputnik V is the first registered Russian vaccine against coronavirus, it was created on the basis of adenovirus, in which the coronavirus gene is embedded. When it enters the cells, it forms proteins in them – they cause immunity and promote the development of antibodies.
