Mayor of Irpin Alexander Markushin on Sunday, March 13, said that he was introducing a ban on entry into the city for journalists in order to save their lives, as well as the defenders of Ukraine.
– We prohibit the entry of journalists to Irpen. Thus, we want to save the lives of both them and our defenders. I beg all media representatives, as well as all Ukrainians – do not publish our military personnel, their equipment or anything that would indicate their location on social networks! It is very important! the mayor stressed.
He said that this harmed the complete liberation of Irpen. According to him, the ban will come into force on March 14.
“Sorry, this is temporary, but we don't want to risk our boys' lives. Today is a sad day for Irpin. During the night, 3 of our guys died, who were at the checkpoint at the entrance from Bucha. They died because everyone is running and taking pictures, posting them on the Internet, showing positions to the enemy,” Markushin said.
