Russia has cancelled the main naval parade, which was supposed to take place in St. Petersburg on Sunday, July 27. This is allegedly due to “security measures.”

This was reported on Thursday, July 3, by propaganda media citing their own sources, 24 Kanal reports. The format of the Navy Day celebration has been returned to the model from before 2015.

Why was the parade cancelled?

Preparations for the event were allegedly stopped several days ago, in particular the training of foot units, which traditionally conclude the ceremonial events on Senate Square. But the part of the preparations visible to St. Petersburg residents has not yet begun.

According to unofficial information, the cancellation of the main naval parade is due to “security measures.” The plans for celebrating Navy Day include laying wreaths with officials and a concert on Palace Square.

There will be no ships in the Neva or at the Kronstadt roadstead, and there will be no aircraft, the statement says.

Let us recall that the Russian Navy is currently “mourning” a loss – Deputy Commander of the Navy Mikhail Gudkov was killed during a shelling in the Kursk Region. In addition, Captain of the Second Rank Nariman Shikhalieva was eliminated.
