A resident of the American city of Goldsboro, North Carolina, claims that he hit the jackpot in the lottery thanks to his love of pasta and cheese. The UPI portal reports.
Marquetton Carraway went to a local supermarket to buy ingredients for his favorite macaroni and cheese dish. “At the checkout I was given change, and I was about to leave the store, when suddenly something suggested to me that I needed to take a lottery ticket,” recalls the American.
As a result, the Mega Bucks ticket bought for five dollars (almost 400 rubles) brought Carraway a prize of 200 thousand dollars (15.4 million rubles). Upon learning of the victory, the man called his mother and shared the good news. He sent her a photo of the ticket and asked her to double-check the result of the game.
With the money won, Carraway plans to buy a house and help the family.
In August 2019, it was reported that a resident of the American city of Greensboro, North Carolina, went to the store for macaroni and cheese and at the same time played the lottery. The amount of her winnings was 250 thousand dollars (19.3 million rubles at the current exchange rate).
