All three organizations that finance the cultural sector of the Baltic States completely break the agreements with the Russian Federation.

In response to the war in Ukraine unleashed by Russia, the Lithuanian Cultural Council announced that it would not finance cultural projects related to Russia, even if funding had already been allocated, and called on the organizers and participants of the projects to also reconsider their positions.< /p>

This is stated on the website of the Lithuanian Council of Culture.

As noted, Lithuania will not only join the sanctions against Russia, but will also support initiatives aimed at helping Ukraine and people fleeing the war.

So, the head of the Lithuanian Council for Cultural Affairs, Asta Pakarklyte, said that all organizations that finance the cult urn sector of the Baltic States, terminate agreements with the Russian Federation and stop investing in new projects.

“We are in connection with the cultural foundations of Latvia and Estonia, with which we jointly manage the Baltic Cultural Foundation. Our position is clear and the only thing I missed when I was dealing with a global international network of financial institutions of this type. All three Baltic cultural funders cut ties with the Russian Federation, stop funding existing projects and refuse to invest in new ones. The only window that remains open for discussion is the window for active opposition, including the dissemination of an appeal from the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation,” said Asta Pakarklyte.
