The government has approved a list of Russian applications that will be recommended for preinstallation on gadgets. RIA Novosti reports.
As previously reported with reference to the Ministry of Digital Science, these included Mail.ru Group and Yandex applications, Gosuslugi and the Mir payment system. The popularity rating of the programs was formed on the basis of data provided by companies and confirmed by independent auditors.
In November, Roskomnadzor formed a register of audiovisual services (AVS), which will be able to apply for pre-installation of their applications for electronics imported into Russia (mobile phones and Smart TV). It includes the following ABCs: Okko, Ivi, Megogo, More.tv, Movix, Premier, SPB TV Russia, Start, Wink, Amediateka, Beeline TV, Kino1TV, Kinopoisk, Match TV, Megafon TV , MTS TV, NTV PLUS, Channel One, Look, Tricolor Kino and TV Online.
In December 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law prohibiting the sale of equipment, including smartphones and computers, without Russian software preinstalled. It was noted that the government will establish the exact list of devices to which the requirements will apply, as well as the list of the programs themselves.
